February 22 & 23, 2017 | Zilker Park Caretaker Cottage Project
Thirty-five River Watchers from five different area high schools learned how to safely use a weed wrench and cutter mattock to help restore the native vegetation around the Zilker Park Caretaker Cottage. During two evenings, our students enjoyed hands-on, engaging work as they partnered with Austin Park Rangers to remove invasive bamboo while exploring this exciting career path. There was even some playful competition for who could remove the longest rhizome!
