AYRW Supporters

Thank you to all who have supported our organization and cause throughout the years.

The City of Austin

When it began in 1992, Austin Youth River Watch was designed as a joint venture of LCRA and the City of Austin. Ever since, our primary sources of financial support have been the Watershed Protection Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, and Austin Water Utility. These competitive grants have allowed us to achieve nearly 30 years of success. But our partnership doesn’t end there: River Watch regularly partners with scientists and educators from the City on pollution detection, restoration and green infrastructure projects, teacher trainings, public presentations, and more.

Lower Colorado River Authority’s Colorado River Watch Network

Since our inception, LCRA has provided critical training and equipment to make our water quality monitoring efforts possible. Every River Watch student must learn and follow the rigorous scientific protocols developed by LCRA’s Colorado River Watch Network program. LCRA also manages the water quality data that our River Watchers collect — no small task! Our public data sets are integrated with water quality data sets statewide, and are used by local, state, and national agencies.

3M Foundation and 3Mgives

The 3M Foundation and 3Mgives have been generous corporate supporters of our environmental STEM and youth development programs for youth from underserved communities since 2017. We are thankful for their support through grants and the exponential benefits that have come from their naming of Austin Youth River Watch as beneficiary of the 3M Half Marathon in both 2019 and 2020!
