On each Thursday of our four-week Summer Adventure Program, River Watchers had the opportunity to go on day canoeing trips. Thanks to Zilker Park Boat Rentals, twenty-five students went canoeing on Lady Bird Lake this summer, some for their very first time! Outdoor adventure is an important component of our programming; these adventures are transformative, educational experiences that cultivate the imagination and environmental awareness of our future stewards. On these trips our students gain valuable outdoor skills, build core values (such as teamwork, self-reliance, and courage), and foster a love of nature for a lifetime to come.
