Austin Youth River Watch
Summary
AYRW's 2026 Summer Program includes outdoor programming focused on watershed education, aquatic ecology, and Central Texas ecosystems.

Student Stipend
$50/day
Transportation
Full transportation will be provided to and from specific pick-up and drop-off locations. Choose your preferred location in the application form below.
Application Process
We prioritize enrolling students from low-income households, recognizing that cost, transportation, and access barriers often limit participation in outdoor and environmental programming. After you complete the online application, a staff member will contact you to set up a brief interview. Interviews will take place April 27th- May 15th.

Schedule
Programming takes place Tuesday–Thursday, with Fridays reserved for “Adventure Days” featuring outdoor activities like swimming, caving, kayaking, and more.
Cohort 1 Dates
June 1st-12th (2 week mini cohort!)

June 15th-July 3rd
Cohort 3 Dates
July 13th-31st
Responsibilities
- Students will attend 4 days per week from 7:30 AM -3:30 PM of outdoor programming.
- Students must attend at least 75% of programming days.
- Students are expected to arrive on time to their pick-up location.
- Students are expected to communicate with their supervisor.
Adventures
Each cohort will have 2 Friday adventure opportunities. Adventure days are not paid, but they are free and include activities like caving, kayaking, swimming, and more!
Gulf Coast Trip
At the end of both cohorts from August 4-7th, all summer program students will have the opportunity to sign up for an educational and fun trip to Matagorda Bay! We will water quality test, do ocean science activities, and have a full beach day.
