Volunteer
There are many ways to volunteer with AYRW
Along with regular water quality monitoring, River Watchers work with community partners on restoration projects and outreach events throughout the year that volunteers can help with.
Some of the stuff we need help with
Weekly meal deliveries, creek clean-ups, planting native riparian species, mulching, invasive species removal, outreach activities, and building rain gardens.
We also often need additional support with advocacy for issues related to our youth and the environment, assistance at our EcoHouse with administrative duties, and of course fundraising. We are a small staff with a significant impact and would love to hear from you!
Meal Delivery Volunteers:
Help deliver prepared meals to our students’ homes each week. This opportunity is ongoing and flexible – great for individuals with a car and a couple of free hours.
- Deliver meals once a week on Fridays between 10AM-2PM.
- Route takes about 2-3 hours.
- We are flexible with your schedule!
- More information here!
Community Volunteer Events:
We host 2–4 public volunteer events each year, including:
- Annual MLK Day Creek Clean-Up at Buttermilk Creek
- Additional restoration or clean-up events throughout the year
(announced via our social media and newsletter.)
