Seven students and three staff learned about AYRW’s programming and the benefits of grasses in our local environment, especially their role in riparian areas and improving water quality and increasing water quantity. Our visitors from TSBVI then helped prepare 35 eastern gamagrass potted transplants to be be planted at the next day’s Buttermilk Creek volunteer event. Also, students cleared the older, decomposing grasses in our grass bed to allow for more productive growth of new grass blades
