June 1, 2017 | Take Me To The River
On Thursday, June 1st, we held a fundraising event at the Mexican-American Cultural Center. Friends and supporters of River Watch enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they learned about the important work we do for underserved youth and the environment through personal stories from current students, alumni, and parents of River Watchers. We also had a fun paddle raise activity and auction where we were able to secure support for future programming, thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended. It was an exciting and successful evening!
Through this fundraising event we were able to raise $20,000 from the paddle raise, silent and live auctions, sponsorships, ticket sales, and various donations. With this amount we can help improve the environmental conditions around Austin and continue to train, develop, and inspire at-risk youth to succeed and become our future environmental stewards!
Thank you again to our sponsors, donors, attendees, and all of River Watch’s board and staff for making this event a success!
