January 17 & 18, 2017 | Rain Days and Mentor Test Prep
River Watchers avoided the rain by staying indoors at the EcoHouse, studying for the mentor test and eating healthy snacks. After a River Watcher has participated in the program for at least one year, he or she is eligible to take the mentor test. Upon passing, this young person becomes a peer mentor, leading water monitoring tests and setting an example as a positive role model for their peers. Mentors also receive an increase in stipends for their effort, as well as a hoodie recognizing their achievements. Note: Eleven River Watchers achieved Mentor status during the first quarter of 2017 (Jan-March)!
