July 18, 2017 | Leadership Activity with El Ranchito
During our off season, four River Watchers had the opportunity to lead a water quality testing demonstration for the El Ranchito Gulf Coast Expeditioners (two of which were River Watch alums) and two visiting professors of Biological Sciences from St. Edwards University. El Ranchito is a local nonprofit serving children of low income families in order to connect children with the natural world by providing extraordinarily fun and inspiring nature-immersion camping experiences. We were the Gulf Coast Expedition’s first stop on their way down the Colorado River to the Gulf. Activities such as this provides valuable opportunities for our River Watchers to practice and fine tune their leadership skills.
