Why is it important to throw away your trash properly? 🚮

Because stormwater drains in Austin lead straight to your local creek. When it rains, all the litter on streets and sidewalks gets washed into those drains, and ends up in our waterways.

That trash doesn’t just disappear. It pollutes the water, harms wildlife, and affects everything downstream!

We’re honored to share that AYRW is the 2025 recipient of the Ruthe Jackson Education and Outreach Award from @keeptxbeautiful 🌱

This award recognizes organizations that go above and beyond in environmental education and outreach and celebrates the leadership of local organizations in beautifying communities and creating cleaner, greener campuses, parks, and neighborhoods. We couldn’t have done it without our incredible community of partners. Huge thanks to @batconservationinternational, Watershed Protection, @texasparkswildlife, @zilkerparkboats, @lowercoloradoriverauthority, @shoalcreekconservancy, and @ecologyactionatx for being a part of this journey with us! 💙

We ate very well thanks to @threechickssoulfood, shared some unforgettable memories, and sent each senior home with a certificate and a cord to rep RW at graduation.
