New Staff Announcement!
Please help us welcome Katie Keske to our family and team at Austin Youth River Watch! In her role as Program Coordinator, Katie will be working directly with River Watchers and Program Staff to develop and facilitate an exceptional after-school and summer program focused on environmental education, mentorship, social responsibility, and personal enrichment.
Katie attended Auburn University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Biology Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology/Conservation Biology. Her most recent appointment with the Council for Environmental Education included research on wildlife conservation and educational standards and methodology as it relates to the implementation of Project WILD K-12 Curriculum. There is no doubt that her experience as a 7th grade Life Science teacher will contribute invaluable benefits to the success of our River Watchers. As a proactive member of her community, Katie has volunteered with Girlstart, Auburn University, Global Climate March, Southeastern Raptor Center, and Austin Youth River Watch.
Katie is a hands-on leader, who brings a unique combination of experience and passion for youth development, STEM education, and environmental stewardship. I hope you will join with our Board, River Watchers, Volunteers, and Staff in welcoming Katie to Austin Youth River Watch. Let the adventures begin!
