Tree Planting on Valentine’s Day:
Show some ♥ love ♥ to an Austin creek on Valentine’s Day! Austin Youth River Watch is partnering with TreeFolks on Saturday, February 14th from 9AM – 12PM at Buttermilk Creek in the St. John neighborhood. We will be planting tree seedlings along the riparian corridors in an effort to protect creek water, provide shade, reduce stream-bank erosion, and increase ecosystem diversity. This is one more positive step towards improving the quality of life in an Austin neighborhood. We hope you can join us!
Austin Youth River Watch has been monitoring water quality at Buttermilk Creek since 2009 and in 2012 we launched a stream enhancement project at this site with the support of the City of Austin Watershed.
