July 28, 2014: Four River Watchers participated in a Riparian Function Workshop as part of the Service Learning Program. While on a hike, River Watchers were presented with information about starting a stream-improvement project on the community level and ways to work together to create a sustainable community. River Watchers reviewed their findings from the previous week regarding the main tenets of proper riparian functioning and identified problem areas along Barton Creek at Zilker Park. Students finished by cooling off in Barton Creek, eating lunch, and completing the Post Workshop Assessment. Great job River Watchers!
