July 21, 2014: Nine River Watchers participated in a Riparian Function Workshop as part of the Service Learning Program by learning about what a functioning Riparian Zone looks like and its benefits ecologically and hydrologically at the first site, Boggy Creek Greenbelt. River Watchers then assessed the Colorado River under the Montopolis Bridge to make observations and compare these findings to the Boggy Creek site. Students finished at Little Webberville Park to eat lunch, review concepts, make observations, and compare all sites.
