November 1, 2012: 11 River Watchers and two volunteers sampled the water quality at Bright Leaf Preserve, while another volunteer photographed the monitoring event. Bright Leaf Preserve was a gift of Georgia B. Lucas and is managed by our sponsors at the Austin Community Foundation. Learn about all of the work of the Austin Community Foundation on their website. Two of the volunteers are regular Thursday Mentors for the students. One of the volunteers was Stacy Sodolak of SMS Photography who is also Mr. Adam’s wife. Stacy photographed the students and volunteers in situ during their water testing at the Preserve. It was a fun event.
