October 4 and 15, 2012: 22 River Watchers flew kites and played on the large round bales of hay here on the farm where the River Watch EcoHouse is at Hornsby Bend. Young people from the city don’t often get to encounter this particular venue for adventures, so we all made the most of the opportunity and the farmer was really friendly about it. Students climbed bales, rolled bales, and helped each other up and down. The kites were a big hit to. We had at least seven kites flying at one time. We enjoyed a sublime sunset and then headed home for the day.
