February 4, 2015: Seven River Watchers explored Barkley Meadows, the new Travis County Park along Onion Creek. They hiked the new trail over to the wetland, where they saw a huge erosion problem and they even pulled a tire out of the water. River Watchers ate wild food as the pecan trees in the park were gifting us with tasty goodness. They finished off down at the pond, where they met a Travis County Parks employee named Faz. They looked at the erosion problem starting on the edge of the pond and talked about planting native deep-rooted grasses as a strategy as well as not mowing on the downslope side of the trail.
