June 15, 2017 | E. coli Discussion: Water Quality, Sampling, and Reading
Program staff led a discussion with 13 River Watchers who were from Manor, Crockett, Reagan, Lanier, LBJ, McCallum high schools. The discussion highlighted E.coli bacteria, including its origin, sources of bacteria in our creeks, and how bacteria affects water quality. River Watchers were also shown E.coli samples in quanti-trays, and learned about how samples are read with black lights, and how to interpret the samples.
