June 14, 2012: After our tour at Cave without a Name, students ventured to Cibolo Nature Preserve in Boerne, Texas. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Wildlife Biologist, Rufus Stephens, talked about his career and life trajectory while he showed us his work with the prairie there. He discussed the ecological factors that make a prairie and the management tools that maintain it. It was inspiring to stand among grasses taller than the tallest person in our group. After our visit with Rufus and the prairie, we enjoyed the cool waters of Cibolo Creek.
