Seven River Watchers reviewed the mentor test and sharpened their skills as water quality monitors. They discussed topics like, the role of dissolved oxygen in the aquatic ecosystem, what it means when we see filamentous green algae in the creeks, and how biological monitoring can be an indicator of water quality.
River Watchers ended their evening by attending Shades of Green Huston-Tillotson. The Shades of Green Learning Series is designed to facilitate discussion about racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion and to create a safe space for learning and exploring how the predominately white environmental movement in Austin, TX can become more collaborative across differences in race and class.
