January 13, 2015: Seven River Watchers from Lanier High School explored Hornsby Bend, learning about the history of the property. Did you know that Hornsby Bend was granted to Reuben Hornsby by Stephen F. Austin in 1832? They discussed some of the programs managed by the Center for Environmental Research, including the Hornsby Bend Bird Observatory. They toured the ponds looking for wildlife and then visited a stretch of the Colorado River. At the EcoHouse, they had healthy snacks and uploaded water monitoring data to the LCRA’s CRWN site.
