October 25-26, 2014: Three River Watchers traveled to Cook’s Island at Webberville for the Young Men’s Canoe Camping Adventure! Their island experience was filled with fishing, catching and identifying benthic macroinvertebrates, exploring the river by swimming and in canoes, hiking around the island, making s’mores, enjoying campfire games, and talking to the night creatures which included amphibians, owls, and ospreys. Ospreys are river hawks and the top of the food chain along the river. Great day and night with some new friends. Thanks Neal Cook!
