July 15, 2014: Eight River Watchers visited Bright Leaf Preserve. Nancy Woolley led the River Watchers down to the water’s edge where they tested the water quality. As usual, the quality was good although a little low. Then they hiked around a great loop with an overlook and Nancy told the River Watchers about useful native plants and shared the history of the Preserve. Then they finished the day with a celebration of the Summer Leadership Program and prepared for the Riparian Function Workshop we would be doing for the next two weeks. Thanks to the Austin Community Foundation for this great experience and for the staff support they provide.
